Burners tell you a lot. A gas burner that clicks and never lights points at the igniter or a clogged port. One that burns yellow needs airflow work. On electric and glass tops, a dead element is often a bad switch or a burned connector, not the coil itself. We also chase gas smells and stuck knobs. Columbia has plenty of original ranges still in service, and many are worth fixing. If you smell gas, shut the valve and step outside first. Then call us or send the quote form with the brand and model.

We cover Columbia's 21044, 21045, 21046 and 20723, plus Ellicott City just under three miles out, Catonsville, Scaggsville and Hanover.
Both, plus dual-fuel and induction. Gas work means igniters, valves, orifices and safety valves. Electric means elements, infinite switches and relay boards. Induction means coils and power modules. Tell us which you have when you call us.
Almost always a part, not the appliance. A drifting temperature sensor is the usual culprit, sometimes the control board or a cracked element. We test the sensor's resistance cold, so the diagnosis isn't guesswork.
Yes, and it's usually a small repair. On gas that points at one igniter or a blocked orifice. On electric it's often the element or its receptacle. Isolated failures are simpler than whole-range problems.
That's most of the homes we visit. Rowhouses and walk-ups don't leave much clearance. We protect the floor, walk the range out carefully, and check for a gas shutoff before anything moves.
Call us in the morning and we'll tell you what's open that day or the next. We give you a time window, not a whole day. If you're in 21044 or 21045 we're often already routing through, so same-day is realistic. Water on the floor or a fridge full of thawing food moves up the list.
Call us or fill out the form. Describe what you hear, smell or see. Brand and rough age help. We ask a few questions so the tech arrives with likely parts on the truck.
Pick a window that works. Our tech tests the machine, checks power, water and drainage, then explains what failed in plain words. No jargon, no guessing out loud at your kitchen table.
Most jobs finish the same visit. If a part must be ordered, we tell you what and why. If the unit isn't worth fixing, we say that too, and you decide.
Ask these of anyone you let into your home — us included. Call and we'll answer all five before you book anything.
Describe the fault, approve the written quote, get it fixed. Starting takes about a minute.
