Oven Repair — Book a Visit Today

An oven quits at the worst time. Bake element cracks. Igniter glows but never lights the gas. Control board loses its mind and flashes a code nobody can read. Door hinges sag until heat leaks out the top and everything browns wrong. Thermostat or sensor drifts, so 350 is really 290. We work on electric, gas, wall ovens and range ovens from all major brands, as an independent shop. A visit means testing the element, igniter, sensor and board, checking the door seal and hinges, then telling you plainly what failed and what it takes to fix. Tight kitchens and old walk-up wiring are normal for us. Call us and describe what the oven is doing.

Oven Repair — residential oven being serviced

The oven symptoms we hear most

  • "Nothing heats, but the lights come on" Failed bake element, open igniter circuit, or a relay on the control board
  • "Everything burns on the bottom" Broken broil element, weak fan in a convection model, or a drifting temperature sensor
  • "It takes forever to reach temperature" Weak igniter not pulling enough amps, or heat escaping past a worn door gasket
  • "The door won't shut flush anymore" Sagging hinges, stretched springs, or a warped inner door panel
  • "There's an error code and it beeps at me" Control board fault, open sensor circuit, or a stuck door lock motor

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Confirm the oven breaker hasn't tripped and, on gas units, that the range valve behind the appliance is still open.
  • 2Cancel any timed bake or delay start setting, since a leftover program can block the oven from heating at all.
  • 3Hold a hand near the closed door edges while the oven runs and feel for escaping heat that points to a bad gasket.
  • 4Set an oven thermometer on the center rack, run it at 350, and note how far off the reading lands.

Oven Repair — quick answers

Why does my food cook unevenly now?

Uneven results usually trace to one heating element working while the other doesn't, a sensor reading low, or a door that no longer seals. We test each in turn instead of guessing, then replace only the part that's actually off.

My gas oven clicks but never lights. What is that?

That clicking is the igniter trying. A weak igniter can glow without drawing enough current to open the gas valve. It's a common wear part. We measure the draw to confirm before replacing anything.

Is it worth repairing an older oven?

Often yes. Elements, igniters, sensors, hinges and gaskets are standard parts on most ovens. We look at what failed, whether parts are still available for that model, and give you a straight read so you can decide.

Can you work on a built-in wall oven?

Yes. Wall ovens sit in cabinetry and sometimes need to be slid out for board or wiring access. In older homes that means careful work around trim. We plan the pull before we start.

Should I use self-clean before you come?

Skip it. Self-clean runs extreme heat and frequently kills a marginal element, thermal fuse or control board. If the oven is already acting up, wait until it's repaired before running that cycle again.

How long does a typical repair take?

Many jobs finish in one visit when the failed part is a common one carried on the van. Control boards and model-specific parts may need ordering. We tell you which situation you're in before we leave.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call us or fill out the form. Describe what you hear, smell or see. Brand and rough age help. We ask a few questions so the tech arrives with likely parts on the truck.

  2. Step 2

    We come look

Pick a window that works. Our tech tests the machine, checks power, water and drainage, then explains what failed in plain words. No jargon, no guessing out loud at your kitchen table.

  3. Step 3

    Repair or straight answer

Most jobs finish the same visit. If a part must be ordered, we tell you what and why. If the unit isn't worth fixing, we say that too, and you decide.
