Milk turning early is usually the first sign. Then the freezer frosts over, or the compressor runs and never shuts off. On Lowell's older kitchen circuits, a fridge crammed into a tight alcove overheats fast and the condenser coils pack with dust. We check defrost heaters, thermostats, evaporator fans, door seals and drain lines before we touch anything expensive. We repair all major brands as an independent company, and we'll tell you straight what the unit needs. Move perishables to a cooler, then reach us or use the quote form to get on the schedule.

We cover Lowell and 01821, 01810 and 01730, plus Chelmsford, Billerica and Methuen just down the road.
Aim for 37 to 40 degrees in the fresh food side and around 0 in the freezer. Use a standalone thermometer in a glass of water overnight — built-in displays drift and often read what the board thinks, not what the air is.
Depends on what broke. A fan motor, thermostat, or defrost heater on a solid cabinet is usually sensible. A failed sealed system on an aging unit is a different conversation. We'll tell you honestly which one you're looking at.
That's the defrost cycle failing. The heater, thermostat, or timer stopped clearing frost from the evaporator, so it grows into a block and strangles airflow to the fridge side. Common repair, and the parts are usually available.
Yes. Built-ins need care coming out of their cabinets and often have condensers up top instead of below. We plan the pull before we start so nothing gouges your flooring or cabinet trim.
Most Lowell calls get a slot within a day or two, sometimes same day if a route opens up. Tell us the model and the symptom when you call us so we bring the right parts. If parking is tight on your street, mention that too — it saves the tech a lap around the block.
Call us or fill out the form. Describe what you hear, smell or see. Brand and rough age help. We ask a few questions so the tech arrives with likely parts on the truck.
Pick a window that works. Our tech tests the machine, checks power, water and drainage, then explains what failed in plain words. No jargon, no guessing out loud at your kitchen table.
Most jobs finish the same visit. If a part must be ordered, we tell you what and why. If the unit isn't worth fixing, we say that too, and you decide.
Ask these of anyone you let into your home — us included. Call and we'll answer all five before you book anything.
Describe the fault, approve the written quote, get it fixed. Starting takes about a minute.
