Warm milk in a cold-looking fridge is the call we get most. Sometimes it's a frosted-over evaporator coil. Sometimes a fan that quit, a door gasket gone soft, or a compressor working too hard behind a grille packed with dust. In Manhattan kitchens the fridge often sits in a nook with almost no breathing room, and that alone cooks the condenser. We check temps, airflow, and the defrost cycle before touching parts. Bring your food to a cooler, then reach us or fill out the quote form and we'll get you scheduled.

We cover 10452, 10455, 10457 and 10460, plus runs out to the Bronx, Yonkers, Brooklyn and Queens.
Aim for 37 to 40 degrees in the fresh food side and around 0 in the freezer. Use a standalone thermometer in a glass of water overnight — built-in displays drift and often read what the board thinks, not what the air is.
Depends on what broke. A fan motor, thermostat, or defrost heater on a solid cabinet is usually sensible. A failed sealed system on an aging unit is a different conversation. We'll tell you honestly which one you're looking at.
That's the defrost cycle failing. The heater, thermostat, or timer stopped clearing frost from the evaporator, so it grows into a block and strangles airflow to the fridge side. Common repair, and the parts are usually available.
Yes. Built-ins need care coming out of their cabinets and often have condensers up top instead of below. We plan the pull before we start so nothing gouges your flooring or cabinet trim.
Tell us the building rules when you call us — service elevator hours, a doorman, a certificate of insurance on file, or a fifth-floor walk-up. We pick an arrival window that fits those hours instead of showing up when the freight elevator is locked. If the super needs to let us in, give us that name too.
Call us or fill out the form. Describe what you hear, smell or see. Brand and rough age help. We ask a few questions so the tech arrives with likely parts on the truck.
Pick a window that works. Our tech tests the machine, checks power, water and drainage, then explains what failed in plain words. No jargon, no guessing out loud at your kitchen table.
Most jobs finish the same visit. If a part must be ordered, we tell you what and why. If the unit isn't worth fixing, we say that too, and you decide.
Ask these of anyone you let into your home — us included. Call and we'll answer all five before you book anything.
Describe the fault, approve the written quote, get it fixed. Starting takes about a minute.
