Burner clicks and clicks but won't light. A coil element stays dead. The flame runs yellow and lazy instead of blue. Gas cooktop issues usually trace to a fouled igniter, a bad spark module, or a clogged burner port. Electric tops are often a burnt element or a failed switch. We check both sides — the burner and the control behind it. Independent service on all major stove brands. Newton has plenty of original gas ranges still in daily use, and most are worth repairing. Describe the symptom when you call us.

Both, plus dual-fuel and induction. Gas work means igniters, valves, orifices and safety valves. Electric means elements, infinite switches and relay boards. Induction means coils and power modules. Tell us which you have when you call us.
Almost always a part, not the appliance. A drifting temperature sensor is the usual culprit, sometimes the control board or a cracked element. We test the sensor's resistance cold, so the diagnosis isn't guesswork.
Yes, and it's usually a small repair. On gas that points at one igniter or a blocked orifice. On electric it's often the element or its receptacle. Isolated failures are simpler than whole-range problems.
That's most of the homes we visit. Rowhouses and walk-ups don't leave much clearance. We protect the floor, walk the range out carefully, and check for a gas shutoff before anything moves.
Call us and we'll give you the next open window, often within a day or two. Morning and afternoon blocks are available. If your street parking is permit-only or the driveway is short, say so when you book so the tech plans for it.
Call us or fill out the form. Describe what you hear, smell or see. Brand and rough age help. We ask a few questions so the tech arrives with likely parts on the truck.
Pick a window that works. Our tech tests the machine, checks power, water and drainage, then explains what failed in plain words. No jargon, no guessing out loud at your kitchen table.
Most jobs finish the same visit. If a part must be ordered, we tell you what and why. If the unit isn't worth fixing, we say that too, and you decide.
Ask these of anyone you let into your home — us included. Call and we'll answer all five before you book anything.
