The independent appliance repair shop across the Northeast
Refrigerator Repair in Boston — Book a Visit Today
We fix refrigerators that stop getting cold, and milk turning early is usually the first clue. Then the freezer frosts over, or the compressor runs and runs. Sometimes it's a defrost heater, sometimes a fan, sometimes a door gasket that quit sealing after years of Boston humidity. We diagnose before we touch parts, so you're not paying for guesses. Built-ins wedged into narrow South End kitchen alcoves are normal work for us, and we pull them without wrecking your floor. All major brands, independent service. Move the food to a cooler, then reach us or use the quote form.

What homeowners say after the visit
“Dryer squealed like a train. New rollers, quiet laundry room, happy family.”
Gus P.Toms River, NJ“Explained the difference between the cheap fix and the durable fix, then let me pick.”
Nadia H.Nashua, NH“Fridge died the week groceries were stocked for a birthday. They squeezed us in same day.”
Cliff T.Brooklyn, NYRefrigerator Repair in Boston — quick answers
How cold should my refrigerator actually be?
Aim for 37 to 40 degrees in the fresh food side and around 0 in the freezer. Put a standalone thermometer in a glass of water overnight. Built-in displays drift, and they often read what the board thinks instead of what the air is doing.
My fridge is fifteen years old. Worth fixing?
Depends on what broke. A fan motor, thermostat, or defrost heater on a solid cabinet is usually worth doing. A failed sealed system on an aging unit is a different conversation. We'll tell you straight which one you've got.
Why is there ice building up on the back wall of the freezer?
The defrost cycle has failed. The heater, thermostat, or timer stopped clearing frost off the evaporator, so it grows into a block and strangles airflow to the fridge side. Common repair, and the parts are usually available.
Can you work on built-in and counter-depth units?
Yes. Built-ins need care coming out of their cabinets, and the condenser often sits up top instead of below. We plan the pull before we start so nothing gouges your flooring or cabinet trim.
How soon can you get to my Boston apartment or house?
Call us and we'll give you real openings instead of a vague window. Boston traffic and parking are part of the job, so travel time is built into the schedule. If you're in a walk-up, or your building has a loading dock rule, tell us when you book so we show up ready.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call us or fill out the form and describe what you hear, smell or see. Brand and rough age help. We ask a few questions first so the tech shows up with the likely parts already on the truck.
- Step 2
We come look
Pick a window that works for you. The tech tests the machine and checks power, water and drainage, then tells you what failed in plain words. No jargon. No guessing out loud at your kitchen table.
- Step 3
Repair or straight answer
Most jobs finish on the same visit. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you what it is and why. And if the unit isn't worth fixing, we say that, then you decide.

Why homeowners call us
- Old houses don't scare usRowhouse kitchens, narrow cellar stairs, stacked units jammed into closets. We've pulled machines through doorways built long before these appliances existed. We protect floors and trim, and everything goes back where it stood.
- Symptom-first diagnosisA dryer that runs cold and a dryer that trips the breaker are two different problems. We test before we replace. That keeps us from swapping out good parts and handing you a bill for nothing.
- Independent, not a brand agentWe repair all major brands and answer to no manufacturer. So we recommend the fix that makes sense for your machine and your budget, and that includes telling you when replacement is the smarter move.
- All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Whirlpool, LG, Samsung, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and the rest.
- Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
